Day 14: Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park

In NYC, NYC for free, NYC Parks, Statue of Liberty, things to do in NYC on June 14, 2009 at 9:16 pm

Standing in the shadows of city skyscrapers it’s easy to forget that Manhattan is surrounded by water. For a day at the park with stunning riverscapes and an unexpected view of Lady Liberty, head down to the southern tip of the island where a railing is the only thing separating you from the Hudson. At Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park, just north of Battery Park, green velvety lawns, brightly planted gardens with over thirty species in bloom and a promenade along the river offer a perfect day outdoors. Pack a picnic, take a stroll or sit on a bench and relax under the open New York City sky.
