Day 32: City Lights at the Fulton Ferry Landing

There’s an old white house that sits at 1 Water Street in Brooklyn, just underneath the Brooklyn Bridge, that at nighttime is surrounded by lights. On the back side of the house there’s a sign that reads Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and around the corner, the front door that leads out to the Fulton Ferry Landing on the East River which separates the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The ice cream is definitely a winner, but what’s better is finding a bench and taking a few moments to simply sit and revel in the breathtaking views of the lights all around. A little ways north is the Manhattan Bridge and behind it in the distance, the Empire State Building that you can’t miss as it towers over the city aglow in colors that mark the season. For seven bucks the New York Water Taxi will ferry you back to Manhattan; but only of course, once you’ve soaked up enough of those big city lights.
