Day 39: Shakespeare in the Park

In Central Park, NYC, NYC for free, NYC Theater, things to do in NYC on July 9, 2009 at 11:52 pm

The most coveted summertime theater tickets in New York City are perhaps those for Shakespeare in the Park. Attaining them certainly requires the most commitment from theatergoers—one that begins in the very wee hours of morning. If you’re lucky enough to score a pair, you’re back that evening for a seat in the park’s intimate, open-air Delacorte Theater and a show that brings you back in time with characters in old-world costume, frolicking to sweet instrumentals, while the night sky and the park’s landscape surround you. Since 1957 the series has drawn crowds for this wonderful event that is truly one of the most special things to do in a New York City summer.
